(New Segment) Comparing Similar Films #1: Men in Black=RIPD

In this segment I will introduce two similar movies and compare them to see if they really are the the same. RIPD the supernatural action film set to be released on July 19, but there are reasons why I won't go see it in theaters. A lot of people are calling it a ghost version of Men in Black, which it is. None of you know yet, but a future top 10 list includes Men in Black in me top 10 favorite trilogies. This is why it enrages me to hear that a weirder modern version would be made. At first I looked at the synopsis and was excited, then they released the trailer. Although the cast is great it doesn't make up for the fact that it is a rehash. In this segment I'll compare the two films and show you they are almost the same thing:

In the MIB headquarters it is completely white and pristine. In the RIPD trailer the headquarters it also white and pristine.

And finally, the posters feature two partners both males one young and inexperienced, one old and experienced:

Are they really that similar? Yes they are. Even if you look at the posters Tommy Lee Jones and Jeff Bridges are always on the left and Ryan Reynolds and Will Smith are always on the right. That's how close they are. But even though it is a rehashing for this generation this movie would probably make for a great rental or maybe even dollar theater movie , but because it is a very similar idea and movie I won't be checking this out for a long time.
