Comparing # 2: Pacific Rim = Transformers

A lot of people are comparing two major summer blockbusters Transformers and Pacific Rim. With Pacific Rim being released tonight and Transformers 4 next summer I wanted to take a minute to compare the two franchises to see how similar they really are.

There are giant robots:
Pacific Rim                                                         Transformers
    
They have a greater threat:
 Pacific Rim(Kaiju)                                                        
 
Transformers(Decepticons)
 


Battles of epic proportions:
Pacific Rim                                                                                            

Transformers

The humans control the robots:                                            
Pacific Rim (Mentally and literally)

Transformers (Mentally and forcefully)

Are they really the same? No, not even close. Although they have the same elements of science fiction and robotics I found they have more differences then similarities. They each face a different threat. I am definitely going to see this tonight.
