5 reasons why Arrested Development should be renewed

As far as I've looked Netflix is not quite ready to renew the critically and audience loved TV series reboot. I watched a couple of episodes and thought it was not as good as the original and then it all started to connect.
Why hasn't Netflix decided? My guess is they are waiting for the Emmy's. The show is now a prime candidate for the 2013 TV award show. According to the show it doesn't look like it is finished just yet. The final episode left it at a cliffhanger leaving the audience to decide the shows fate. Like Amazon this gives the audience the choice to decide based on ratings. I think it will get renewed and here are 5 reasons why I think it should be renewed:
5. Cliffhanger ending- There's nothing more that I hate then a conclusion without answering a cliffhanger.
4. Future of Michael and George Michael's relationship.
3. More interconnected stories
2. Netflix may result in purchasing more programming from networks that cancelled great shows.
1. Competition against Amazon-They need something to fight with. (Hemlock Grove, House of Cards and Arrested Development)

Monsters University Review (Spoilers!)

The entertaining Pixar is back. With the two flops Brave, and Cars 2 hanging out their pocket, I was going in with mid expectations. I went in with mid expectations because of Monsters Inc.(Which I love)and their two failures, it was for the most part balanced out. The talented voice cast however gave me something to laugh at and the script was very good, providing both great laughs and emotion. A good prequel that does provide information on how everyone became enemies and friends while sticking close to the original film. The animation is also improved from both Cars 2 and Brave. I found the world to be larger and brought to many places in their world, especially when Mike and Sullivan are in the human world. Monsters U provides a nod to a potential sequel to the original  film while also wrapping it up in a non tight bow. Monsters was great.

Verdict: Although the prequel is not as fun as the first film, it takes you deeper into the origins of Mike and Sulley, and the entire monster world. Great job Pixar! 9/10
+Expansive world
+Nods to the original
+Funny
+Voice talent
+Story; twist
-Not as inventive
-Didn't match up with the original entirely, but for the most part it was good.
-/+ The film is a tie between predictable and unpredictable, it had a little of both.

Marvel needs a Deadpool movie

Marvel has set an onslaught of dates this past week for new films from 2016 to 2018. These films are all unknown except for the next two Amazing Spiderman movies. There is a rumor going around that Deadpool maybe getting his first starring role on the big screen. Marvel has said they will decide the fate by the success of the Deadpool video game, released just a few days ago. First reviews of the game give the gory action game an average score of 6.5,but lots of copies are being bought. The flick will only be made if the studio agrees for it to be rated R. We all know that Deadpool is awesome. He can use any weapon to slice and dice enemies while even healing his wounds. Deadpool is violent and profane and the studio will only make fans happy by making it R rated. Not like the PG-13 version where he had no mouth as his comic predecessor would suggest. So overall I'M A HUGE FAN OF DEADPOOL!!! He is one of only a few superheroes in comics that I wish would get his own movie. I even have a parody poster of Mickey Mouse dressed as Deadpool. I would bargain that the chances of the movie made now with all of the internet articles telling the studio to make it already, are pretty high. Plus Ryan Reynolds also wants it, he is a major force in producing and acting in the industry. He has already started making test footage. I hope they would do this movie right because for this the comic needs to similar to the film. The way he just slices through things is crazy and the origin isn't too bad,but all Deadpool fans want is their sarcastic superhero. Although the fact he knows he's in a comic is fun for the audience. This movie may not gross their hopes of a billion dollars but if they make it well, the fans may go back again and again for most likely about 200 million worldwide. Marvel do the right thing, bring on Deadpool.

Why there should be a Hangover IV (Spoilers! from Hangover III)

If you have seen none of the three look away now. So at the end of the third film, after the first part of the credits they all awake to a massive Hangover combining every one of the films with one element. By the way I only liked the first and third Hangover movies. Now if they were to make another film they should use this as the blueprint, it's crazier then two and more on topic then three. I sense that it may not be over just yet for the wolfpack. Why? Here are my reasons:
5. Nothing's over yet because if the creator flops on other projects he still has his baby.
4. The tagline states" It All Ends", but that's the same thing the first Scary Movie said. The second Scary Movie's tagline read "We lied".
3. Money- If a director runs out of money and audiences want it they will make another one. Plus three has made 300 million so far.
2. The ending was not definitive- Nobody died or did not say this is the end.
1. A (Final) bigger wolfpack- Adding two more members Chow and Cassie(Melissa McCarthy) it is sure to cause more antics between the group.
Thanks to the final scenes of three we have closure, looking back at the four men who got drunk, and couldn't remember. If they did IV they should start exactly where three left off, it could be called Hangover III part 2. The tagline could be "You thought it was over." The studios have talked about certain spin offs for the characters such as Alan and Stu. Honestly don't do a spin off unless it's with Alan, but you have to stray from the Hangover serum to just show his crazy life and criminal records. The chances of this film getting made are pretty low although the end does beg the question, "Will we see a real conclusion?"

The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings finally finish

Yesterday the Hobbit finally finished it's last day of shoots for the final film in the planned trilogy. Peter Jackson and Ian Mckellan were both upset that it has to end. Peter Jackson posted photos of the final day on his Facebook along with some of the cast. After over a decade in the making of these films it is finally over. Now we still have to wait till next year for the dramatic conclusion and by that time it will be a sad day. I loved all of the Lord of the Rings and the first Hobbit films because of their excellently crafted directing. Congratulations Mr. Jackson you deserve this.

Roland Emmerich, the man who destroys the White House and the Statue of Liberty in every single movie he makes

In honor of this week's White House Down release I talk Roland Emmerich and Channing Tatum. Now usually Roland Emmerich destroys everything, but what does he show the most, the White House being destroyed. In every disaster and action film he has ever made with the White House and the Statue of Liberty around, he has destroyed them every time.
Independence Day- Aliens destroy New York, and Washington starting at the White House.
Godzilla-Destroys New York and Tokyo.
Day after Tomorrow- Destroys Statue of Liberty and New York.
2012-Giant tsunami after pole shifting floods and destroys White House.
White House Down- The explosion of White House, being taken over and burned.

Why well we don't know, but everyone likes Emmerich's films not expecting them to be good, but you expect them to be action packed. With reviews coming in for White House Down it seems like Emmerich is forgetting back to form with this being his third highest rated film on Rotten Tomatoes only behind Thee Patriot and his baby Independence Day. With Roland's next two films planned(Independence Day 2 and 3) it seems Emmerich may go back with his first sequels. What will he do? Most likely, destroy famous landmarks. And that's hat we love from him, good mindless action movies. I have been a fan of his films for the most part, but trailers for 2012 often made me feel weird about the year approaching.

Will you be seeing White House Down and Independence Day 2? How do you feel about Emmerich's film making? Comment below and follow me on this blog, Blogbuster411. 5 reasons why I now like Channing Tatum

Over the years Channing Tatum has become a chick magnet. But now he is trying to stray away from that with his three new guy centric films GI Joe Retaliation, White House Down and 21 Jump Street. These films have been loved by guy audiences everywhere. Personally Mr.Tatum won me over with 21 Jump Street providing both a comedic and some what dramatic role for him. His next films coming out Jupiter Ascending, 22 Jump Street, The Lego Movie, and Foxcatcher confirms he is continuing his guy centric film push for the wider audience. Here are my 5 reasons why I now like Channing Tatum:
5. His personality- Even though guys don't like him he is very likable.
4. 21 Jump Street- This changed my view on him, his comedic moments in this were spot on.
3. This year's Oscars- He put himself out there and danced out there.
2. Action star?- His film taste suggests that this guy isn't all romance.
1.Not a terrible actor- He really isn't. Plus he is a chick magnet, but isn't all that ugly either.

World War Z review (Spoilers!)

Last night I went to go see WWZ. Let's see so we begin with Pitt at his suburban home in Pennsylvania. Then his family all gets together to take their children to school. Anyway Pitt never really feels like he is a dad because everything he does with his kids isn't believable. Then there is a zombie attack. Everyone's running chaotically and then Pitt spots a van and takes his family to it. After seeing a man get attacked Pitt figured out that it's 12 seconds to 10 minutes when a person would turn. Later they all drove to Newark, New Jersey to find it also in chaos except it is not as bad as Philadelphia. So Pitt and company raid a store where many people are killing and looting also. After Pitt's employer tells him to get to a extraction point. Pitt then goes to a apartment building and finds a family still indoors. The family invites them to stay the night and in the morning Pitt leaves with his family. When the family doesn't want to go a zombie breaks into the room infecting the family except for their son Thomas. As Gerry(Pitt) moves up the stairs they are chased by zombies. When on the roof Pitt who was saved by Thomas run to the helicopter and hitch the ride all the way to an aircraft carrier. This part of the film would probably be the most thrilling scene. When they get to the crowded aircraft carrier it is stated that Pitt needs to find the beginning and stop this plague. He immediately leaves and goes to many places only to find the next place to look. After crashing a plane headed for military base Pitt, and a soldier he saved in Jerusalem head to W.H.O. a science place and find out that lethal diseases can save you from the zombies. Then it finishes with Pitt and his family finding each other and leaving this movie open for a couple of sequels.

The Verdict:
So the film, was it great? No. Was it good? Yes, even though there was stiff acting throughout the thrills and story kept you on the edge of your seat. Although not as good as I thought it was going to be WWZ deserves a 7/10.

Star Wars VII, casting breakdown, can Abrams do it?, and Michael Arndt, the multitalented screenwriter

As you probably in October 2012 Disney purchased Lucasfilm, Star Wars, and other properties. It was later revealed that there would be a new planned original trilogy of the Star Wars films. Then they announced that Toy Story 3 screenwriter Michael Arndt would be penning he script. Later in January 2013 many sources have reported filming would be begin in early 2014(which wouldn't be confirmed till last month) with director JJ Abrams attached. Today I look at Star Wars VII and give my rants and thoughts on this film:

Nearly a week ago now the casting began with a breakdown of the statures and shape the people need to be in to audition. “Late-teen female, independent, good sense of humour, fit.”“Young twenty-something male, witty and smart, fit but not traditionally good looking.”“A late twentysomething male, fit, handsome and confident.”“Seventy-something male, with strong opinions and tough demeanour. Also doesn’t need to be particularly fit.”“A second young female, also late teens, tough, smart and fit.”“Forty-something male, fit, military type.”Thirtysomething male, intellectual. Apparently doesn’t need to be fit.

According to EW and other sources this may be the casting sheet for Episode VII. As a huge fan of Star Wars I can tell you I wasn't as delighted with all of the prequels but I appreciated two of them, Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith, only because of Ewan Mcgreggor and some of the story. I do agree these are not as good as the originals but most of us set our bar to high for the prequels to reach. So let's move on and talk about the casting. Now these seem like they may be revamping it for more then just three sequels. Of course there are going to be spin offs  but Disney will most likely make more.  This will be made to appeal both newcomers and present Star Wars fans like you and I. That leads into our multitalented screenwriter, Michael Arndt. Previous credits for this guy are Brave, Toy Story 3, Little Miss Sunshine, and this years Oblivion. With under works underway such as Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Phineas and Ferb, Inside Out,and this current project, he sure is busy as Hollywood wastes no time choosing the talented screenwriter. He has written one sci fi piece before in Oblivion which although did pretty well at the box office has failed critically said to be too generic. But Arndt isn't all to blame seeing that he was not the sole writer of the script. Other works including Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine have won him Best Screenplay Oscars. After Arndt was confirmed for the role as screenwriter Abrams followed as a candidate for director. Famous for his recent films and television series including the reboot of Star Trek, Abrams was said to be a prime candidate but then was ruled out because he was too busy with Star Trek 3. Later it was revealed he would direct and someone would have to take over for the next Trek due in theaters by 2016. Because I am more of a fan of Star Wars then Star Trek I believe Abrams may do just fine managing this film. (No lens flares included please!) I am excited because I was a humongous fan of Abrams reboot Star Trek series with Into Darkness making it very high on my all time best movies list. But as it is Star Wars is higher on my list. (Not the prequels) His style in sci-fi is great and his style is useful. Finally I ask the question, Can Abrams do it? and I believe he can.

Arrested Development Season 4 Netflix review, also Doctor Who Series 1-6 and 7 part 1 review, The Walking Dead Season 3 review (No Spoilers!)

I recently finished these three shows and would love to share my opinions of them. Let's start with the Netflix semi-original series, Arrested Development. Season 4 was better then I hoped it would be. When I started the shows fourth season it felt like a horrible rendition of the show. But as I went on it began to feel better  then the original. With amazing guest stars, that also felt underused in the beginning, and a great interconnected story made me love this dysfunctional family even more. Netflix you've done it again. 9/10

Doctor Who: Entire Revival series review except series 7 part 2: This show got me addicted right away and continued to capture my imagination. Even though the Doctor changes the show must go on. It scared me, made me laugh, and even cry a few times. Overall Doctor Who fans this series is amazing. 10/10

The Walking Dead Season 3: The Walking Dead seasons 1 and 2 impressed me and held me on the edge of my seat. But this season it was a little bit different, this was a little disappointing. Although I thought the season was great I felt not all of the best decisions were made. During the first 8 I was happy with every decision made, but as for the back 8 I feel some were made a little to quickly or harshly. Despite those disappointments  the season left me guessing and hoping for a Season 4. 8/10

Disney and Pixar films, can they get back to form? and predictions, plus the Good Dinosaur news and plot

Last weekend I did an article on animated projects between 2013-2014 and today in honor of Monsters University's success I decided to do an article on whether Disney and Pixar can get back to form and Pixar's next film. In recent years Disney has put out hit after hit Tangled, Wreck-it Ralph mainly, with no sequels. In fact Disney has never done a theatrical sequel to any films only on Direct to DVD, with the exception of next years Planes: Fire and Rescue(same as Planes that's why it is not in animated section). However Pixar had also pledged after Toy Story 2 to no more sequels. Then after hit after constant hit Pixar released complete dog s*** in Cars 2(I mean the only Pixar film without an Oscar nomination) and we all can agree that Brave was just okay. Those two films ended what seemed like a great studio. But this year breaking their sequel rule for the second time(well prequel) with Monsters University. This has been getting the same reviews on RT as 2012's Brave, but audiences agree it is better or almost as good as the past Pixar classics. Does this mean Pixar is coming back to form? The answer to that is a maybe from me because if you look at their upcoming film schedule there is only one sequel, in two years(Finding Dory). Now whether that sequel is a good idea there are actual original films. According to Disney CEO Bob Iger, there is one other sequel in development at Pixar(Most likely The Incredibles 2). So in the next 5 years there are seven films in development. This is also breaking another Pixar film rule, two films every other year, while the off year will have one film(like the original schedules). Little is known on three of the seven projects while the other four have plot lines on the Pixar website. In 2014 we have The Good Dinosaur, a film centered around if an asteroid did not wipe out the dinosaurs. The second part of the plot is when two misfits one human and one dinosaur goes on a quest to finally fit in. The film's crew, mostly popularized name Bob Peterson, and Peter Sohn has written Finding Nemo and edited many of Pixar's shorts, mainly Partly Cloudy. Next in 2015 we have The Inside Out. Inside out is the world inside a girls mind. With the writer of 2010's Toy Story 3, Michael Arndt, and directors ,Pete Doctor and Ronnie del Carmen, of the original Monster's Inc. film and Up on board it is sure to be a good time. The director has also co-written many projects Up, Wall E, Toy Story 1 and 2 and Monsters Inc. All of these projects were hits, so I again state my excitement for this movie. The next movie in 2015 will be Finding Dory. This has all of the original cast back and has been in development since most likely when Cars 2 was being released. The director,Andrew Stanton, from the film will return, but with a first time screenwriter Victoria Strause. Now I'm a little less excited for the writing although the visual will appear to improve. Finally I have the Untitled film about Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a film next year is also being made about the same subject next year as mentioned in my animation article. The director, Lee Unkrich previously has directed, Toy Story 2 and 3 as well as Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc. So what does this mean for Pixar I surely do not know, but things are getting better. At Comic Con 2013 Disney is expected to make announcements on Disney and Pixar's films in development. Also as a side note they will most likely show off new Marvel films, their Star Wars property, and their fall television slate on ABC.

What do you think is Pixar coming back? Should they release another sequel? What did you thin of Monsters U? Comment below and follow me on this awesome explosive blog, Blogbuster411.

Independence Day 2 and 3 and the original (spoilers from original)

Okay so hear it goes. I f-ing love INDEPENDENCE DAY! It's one of my favorite sci-fi films ever made. When I first heard of an Independence Day sequel I didn't necessarily jump for joy. I was confused because where else could they go (Spoiler) because of the destruction of the mothership and other ships. The fact that Roland Emmerich could go back to his best film may help him get more movies. Although don't we all enjoy his films and the destruction that takes place. It was announced yesterday at the White House Down premiere that Will Smith would not return for the sequels. Today it was announced that Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullmun would return for the sequels. The fact they got the original stars to return is great, but they haven't been doing the best stuff. With modern VFX taking over I am going to be interested in the tone these effects will create. If the idea that it is 20 years later and the aliens return what could they possibly do? Destroy everything again? I still, even though not a huge supporter of Emmerich, am super ecstatic for this, it's that time where every film I love is getting a sequel and in the same year 2015, It's a clashing of eras. Also I hope we get another inspirational speech by Thomas Whitmore(It made me cry and get goosebumps form the patriotism), even though it won't be as president.

What do you think of the idea that they are making sequels? Are you looking forward to these films?Comment below and follow me on this blog, Blogbuster411.

Robocop remake, South Park movie sequel, Jurassic Park 4

I know all three items of news have been around for awhile now, but I love the ideas of all of these. For sequels I will most likely rant about check out Independence Day 2 and 3 and the Pixar and Disney back to form story, these will go up later this week or today.

Robocop Remake (2014)- I saw Robocop the original awhile back and again in the last couple of months. And in 2010 when they announced the remake I've followed the news ever since. I think the casting is great and the set photos of Robocop is cool, but what concerns me is if the movie will be R rated and why it is being released in February. The film is better then that I hope. This February only three new films(documentaries not included) preformed well by critics standards. They were Warm Bodies, Snitch, and Side Effects. Next year this film, Pompeii and the Lego Movie I expect to at least get good critical receptions. I think with the Robocop remake the costume is bad ass but I would've wished to see a less updated version. Hopefully this will rock.

South Park 2(TBA, next 5 years.)- A musical based on the raunchy TV show South Park I'm in. I loved the first musical that shows that Trey Parker and Matt Stone know how to write and preform music. The original made back in 1999 will most likely will be worst then the first. I might be embarrassed to go to the theater, so a rental I'm excited for, yes.

Jurassic Park 4(2015)- The plot has supposedly been released by http://www.joblo.com/ saying that will include a human dinosaur team up film versing a larger dinosaur. Now it would be back to a real amusement park. This I love the idea of giant fights(Pacific Rim, Transformers) and this seems great but hard to make.

Under the Dome series premiere review

The premiere of CBS's Stephen King miniseries Under the Dome began last night and let's just say it keeps you guessing. This show was very frustrating. Although the amount of violence on network television I was surprised to see, but also glad it had the Stephen King like approach, slow and mysterious. The story and deaths were really cool, but what really kept me guessing was why anyone who thought about how to destroy the dome went into shock. The cast was very good for a miniseries. Although I found some characters unbelievable. It was surprising how they believed each other. Just for shorts, Chester Mill must now live quarantined with little supplies and no way out. It has potential. 7.5/10

The Verdict: A good miniseries that is violent, and mysterious, but the acting was below par even thought hey had a good cast.

Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor and my thoughts on Doctors 9-11

Well since the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who is right around the corner we will soon learn who the new doctor is. I wanted to take a look forward to the future and look back to the of Doctors 9-11. Plus I will predict the change of doctor and who I think should play him.

The revival of Doctor Who that started in 2005 quickly became my second favorite TV drama next to only AMC's The Walking Dead. The show has changed the way I think of time in general. My favorite out of the three revival Doctors would have to be 10 played by David Tennant, I even cried when the The End of Time was starting. Although the end saddened me we were welcomed to Matt Smith's world. I have not yet seen Series 7 part 2 as you will find in a future article. These are my three favorite episodes for each Doctor:

9 portrayed by Christopher Eccleston (2005), Least favorite, but had good moments.
1. The End of the World
2. Dalek
3. The Empty Child/ The Doctor Dances
HM, Father's Day, Bad Wolf/The Parting of Ways, and Rose

10 portrayed by David Tennant (2005-2010, 2013), I loved, favorite Doctor.
1. The End of Time Part 1 and 2
2. Blink
3. The Stolen Earth/ Journey's End
HM's, Planet of the Ood, Midnight, and Utopia/ Sound of the Drums/ Last of the Time Lords

11 portrayed by Matt Smith (2010-2013), I love and it's going to be sad to see him go.
1.The Pandorica Opens/ The Big Bang
2.The Impossible Astronaut/ Day of the Moon
3. The Wedding of Riversong
HM's, Vincent and the Doctor, The Girl Who Waited, and A Good Man Goes to War/ Let's Kill Hitler

The regeneration brings up the question who will play the 12th Doctor, i have a few guesses:
1. Idris Elba- Great actor, emotional in work.
2. Rory Kinnear- Has that look and quirkiness in him.
3. (Not logical) Hugh Laurie- A house esque Doctor could be cool to see a mixture of seriousness and comedy like from past Doctors.

What do you think of these choices and Doctor Who in general? Comment below and follow my blog you are currently Blogbuster411.

Prince Avalanche, The Lego Movie, Jobs, The Wolf on Wall Street, Frozen, Free Birds, Anchorman 2 TRAILERS and first impressions

Movie trailers show us a sneak peek into worlds we may be visiting in theaters, here are a few from this week:

Prince Avalanche- This trailer was funny and did not include the full plot, so don't watch any other trailers that might give it away.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caWvp0t57wo

The Lego Movie- Hilarious trailer, it showed everything made of Lego's. The voice talent makes me excited and also we could see more of an adult animated movie. Not like South Park Bigger Longer and Uncut, but like little nods to the adult audience with rude humor not used in Disney and Pixar movies. These are the creators behind 21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Robot Chicken episodes.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPnY2NjSjrg

Jobs- A good looking biopic, but Ashton Kutcher doesn't sound good as Steve Jobs.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH1jKZwcS9Y

The Wolf of Wall Street- A great trailer, that I wasn't expecting to be any good, but DiCaprio and McConaughey are great in the movie trailer so... I'll end up seeing this one.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iszwuX1AK6A

Frozen- With this, it feels like 2010's Tangled which I liked, but I hate rehashes. Although it had good moments.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8nQDgvjA28

Free Birds- Turkeys time travel, I'm in. Kinda. Not really, I'll rent it most likely.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhxSOkTFGvo

Anchorman 2- Burgundy's back baby and he's more sexually and racially idiotic then ever. I loved this trailer, Will Ferrell hats off to you. Say Whattttt!!!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRC80uIV0oE

Best Trailer-Anchorman 2 and a tie for first The Lego Movie

Man of Steel (Spoilers!) Review and Discussion

So last week I got to a free screening of Man of Steel. This movie was great, it was action packed and did not get too boring in the flashbacks. Okay so the film starts with Jor-El's struggle to save his son and his planet. His planet is beginning to implode and the government will not take back what they've done. Zod then takes over and kicks ass. Jor-El runs and flies back home after getting a skull from the chamber of unnatural births. Before the planet implodes Jor-El is caught and sends away his son, but then is caught and killed by Zod. Jor-El's wife then watches him get taken away and soon after they send him to the Phantom Zone, the space prison. Soon Krypton implodes and everyone on Krypton is dead. It then skips to Clark now an adult saving a group of people on a rig in the ocean. Then when Clark becomes unconscious from falling off the oil rig he has flashbacks to his childhood and his superhuman abilities. His father Jonathan "Pa" Kent reveals to his son he is an alien and just wants to protect him. Years later Jonathan dies saving his dog and family from a tornado. Clark let's him die when he is waved off. As this unfolds Clark spends many years moving around trying to find the right place when one day he finds a spaceship. Jor-El, a hologram programmed in the ship haunts Clark. Breaking that horror Lois Lane is attacked by a drone on patrol. This drone badly injures her. On activating the ship Zod who got out of the Phantom Zone when Krypton exploded tracks the signal to earth. Clark then flies the ship away placing Lois Lane and her repaired limbs not far off from the military ground she was staying in. He then starts to communicate with the Jor-El conscious hologram. Zod then comes to earth and asks for (Clark) Kal-El or he will destroy earth. Clark then decides he wants to help the human race by giving himself up for earth and humanity. Then taking both Superman and Lois Lane onto his ship, Zod tells them of his plan to destroy and terraform the world where humans are now occupied. Superman powerless because he is not used to the Krypton air is hopeless. Then Lois Lane with the logo for Superman, meaning Hope, finds a slot and the hologram once again appears that helps her and Superman escape. They then destroy a small town trying to imprison Zod and Faora who havethe same abilities as him. He delays them but they escape. As the terraforming process begins millions Metropolis citizens die, Superman takes the one at the Indian Ocean epically destroying it. These scenes really impressed me emotionally and visually. The military takes the other one and Christopher Meloni's(made me sad,but not as sad as when Coulson died) character drives a plane with the weapon to start a black hole, to send the aliens into the Phantom Zone once again. One final battle commences between Zod and Superman, ending with Zod threatening civilians and Superman murders him by savagely snapping his neck. After many days or maybe weeks he throws down satellites because he doesn't want them to know where he is. It ends with Clark getting a job at the Daily Planet where only Lois knows who he is.

Best actors: Henry Cavill, Christopher Meloni Worst actors: Amy Addams

Verdict: The action seems although very epic are very shaky. The story was great and is obviously the best Superman film ever made. 8.5/10

My thoughts on remakes, reboots, sequels, and prequels also my theory on their order

It feels like most movies are reboots, sequels, prequels, and remakes but really that's only a fraction of the amount of movie that come out in the year. Here are my thoughts on sequels first: I personally love sequels! On the other hand I hate the second installment almost every time. They can introduce more characters or you can see an extended epilogue after what happened in the first film.
My thoughts on prequels: Prequels are okay, they can be hit or miss, but really I don't want full origins(start with origins in first film)but I want continuity to the first film.
My thoughts on reboots: Rebooting is not a terrible idea, but if you do it just make sure this does not suck as much as it's predecessor.
My thoughts on remakes: I think remakes or are also hit or miss. A film can't be rebooted after ten years that's too short, reboot older stories from the 50's or 60's.

The order: In my opinion this is the order where most franchises go,
1st film- Amazing! I would(n't) love to see a sequel.
2nd film- It was okay and I can live without it or absolutely terrible.
3rd film- Back to form or still pretty bad.
4th film- There we go one as good as he original.
5th film- Ohhh shit not again
6th film- Most likely will never exist again

What do you think of my thoughts? What are your thoughts on reboots, sequels, prequels, and remakes?

Animation 2013 and 2014 part 2: The Nut Job, Phineas and Ferb, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, Spongebob Squarepants 2, Rio 2, How to Train your Dragon 2, The Boxtrolls, Minions, Big Hero 6, Happy Smeakday!, and The Book of Life, trailers, posters, and impressions

And now begins part 2 of Animation 2013 and 2014:

Let's start with The Nut Job, based on the 2005 short about two squirrels who are banished from the city park and must learn how to live in the city. The cast includes Will Arnett, Brendan Fraiser, Liam Neeson, and Katherine Heigl. The crew is comprised of the producers and the director of the original short, the Surly Squirrel. The idea and cast is intriguing however I was not so impressed with the short. The RT meter will be most likely 40-50%. January 17, 2014 Here's the original short and poster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5y5ZRcsYP5o

Secondly here is Phineas and Ferb the movie. Although the film is not in full production it is said to be a mix of animation and live action. I love the inventive television series but I'm not sure about a feature film. The cast and crew is the same as the TV series. There is no plot available but if they ever decided to finally get into production I would be happy. The RT score most likely would be 85%. TBA 2014 No poster and trailer have not been released.

Another Dreamworks film coming to the big screen is Mr. Peabody and Sherman based on the 50's and 60's segment in the old Rocky and Bullwinkle show. It is about a smart dog and smart kid who travel in time. The cast includes many Modern Family cast members and Steven Colbert. The director Rob Minkoff is most known for Stuart Little and Lion King. That's a good resume. The idea I'm excited for, more time travel! The RT movie score will probably 80%. March 7, 2014 Only a poster is available:

Another sequel to The Spongbob Squarepants movie. The famed animated movie made years back may finally get it's end. The original is amazing and I'm excited for this one. With all of the original cast and crew planned to return. With no story being released, it is scheduled for late 2014. The RT score will most likely be at about 60% like the first film. Also with a large fan base, the box office it could re spark the popularity of the show. TBA Late 2014 No poster or trailer is available.

Next Rio 2 a sequel to the 2010 musical bird hit. This film will follow the return of all of the characters form the original. The crew will also to return. And the story is Nigel returns. The RT score will probably rest at 70% because it may stay as good as the original. Rio was a good film and I'm okay with seeing a sequel but not really looking forward to it.  April 11, 2014 Here's the colorful poster and trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EoB0yAnyfI

A highly anticipated film of mine is How to Train you Dragon 2. This sequel to the critically acclaimed 2010 film it follows the films protagonists five years after Hiccup portrayed by Jay Baruchel lost his leg and will feature them in their late teens, early adulthood trying to chart unmapped lands and to protect the peace. All of the cast and crew will return for the whole trilogy as announced back when the first film was in production.
I wasn't sure whether this was a good idea after I saw the first film because it was excellently shot and written but now I am super excited about it. Like the first film it will be a box office hit and critically will be a success as well. With the same crew returning I think the RT score will be 96% a little less then the original.
The film is scheduled for June 20, 2014. Only photos have been released of the film showing the much older looking cast.

Next is The Boxtrolls. Based on the bestselling book ,Here Be Monsters!, it follows Eggs an orphan who tries save his friends from the Exterminator. I remember reading this book but not completely understanding it though. The cast includes Elle Fanning, Ben Kingsley, Nick Frost and Simon Pegg. The directors previously have co directed Open Season. It could be good fun. The RT score may be around 70%. September 26, 2014 Only a poster is available.

Next,Minions, a sequel and spin off to the not yet released Despicable Me 2. Illumination has to stop off the minion high. They need to move on with original projects but this could be the last Despicable Me esque world. The voice talent however is great with Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm on board. The directors and writers of the two previous films have already returned and are in production as I type. As much as I loved the first film I feel like every year there's a new one, but I will most likely see this film. The RT score will end up resting between 80-90%. December 19, 2014 Nothing is available for the film.

An animated superhero film in Big Hero 6 is next. Based on the Marvel comics is an anime world will show inexperienced superheroes what it takes to take down a crime ring. This film sounds pretty interesting although no cast has been announced and all the crew are first timers. So I might check this film out when they come out with more information on it. The RT meter may rest at 80%. November 7, 2014, No trailer or poster is available except small amounts of test footage on YouTube.

Next is Happy Smeakday!,now titled Home, this is based on the book the True Meaning of Smeakday where  JLO voiced by Jim Parsons is on the run from his own race. I've never read the book, but the idea is fascinating. The cast is okay only starring two names in Parsons and Rihanna. But the director,Tim Johnson, directed the first Dreamworks Animation film Antz. When more information becomes available I may be a little more excited. I feel the film has a chance to be an 80% on RT. November 26, 2014 No trailer or poster has been revealed.

And finally, the darker The Book of Life. A Day of the Dead esque story about Romeo and Juliet. With Pixar coming out with one of these films later I'm not sure about this one. Therefore there is no other news on the topic other then Jorge R. Gutierrez and Doug Langdale are attached to the film. The RT score could be upwards of 75% or downwards of 40%. October 3, 2014 No other news has been released.

Animation 2013 and 2014 part 1: The Lego Movie, Free Birds, Pixels, The Good Dinosaur, Turbo, Frozen, Planes, Monster University, Despicable Me 2,The Smurfs 2, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D, trailers, posters, and impressions

In honor of the prequel to one of the best Pixar movies ever, Monster's Inc., this weekend I've decided to post on the animated films for the rest of this year and 2014. I'v analyzed every major animated film starting with Monster's University and all the way to Minions in December of 2014. Each film article or entry will include first impressions, the story, Rotten Tomatoes meter predictions, the poster and trailer if they have one,and cast and crew identities. Let's get started:

I want to start with the best new candidate, The Lego Movie, coming off a well shot and produced trailer, I am now super excited for this film. The cast overall is amazing, come on Morgan Freeman! The story is a Fellowship of the Ring-esque action adventure about the journey to stop President Business voiced by Will Ferrell from gluing all of the Lego world together. The directors and writers are alumni's from such works as Robot Chicken, 21 Jump Street and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. So the humor may not go wrong. Even though the film releases some months away I predict the RT score will rest at 80%, I have huge hop because of both cast and crew and although I was skeptical of this movie when it was announced now I have full confidence it will do well. February 7, 2014, Here's the full teaser trailer:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPnY2NjSjrg

Next, Free Birds. This weird time travel comedy caught my eye when reading a description on IMDB. The cast was not too amazing but carried names such as Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson. The crew is relatively unknown. The story is about two turkeys who travel in time to get turkeys off the Thanksgiving menu. This concept is crazy weird, and I'll end up probably checking it out at Red box. Shooting for an early November release it might be a holiday game changer, I think the meter will be at about 65%. I have less hope in this film because of the concept, but is all balanced by a confident release date and nice cast. November 1, 2013, Here's the trailer:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoNonO_CYTo

Next a project that hasn't quite picked up off the ground but is almost there. Pixels an animated short produced in 2010, about video game characters in 8 bit attacking the world. The concept sounds interesting and I loved the short but it sounds like Wreck it Ralph. Little information is known on the project other then there is a screenwriter behind Adam Sandler's works, a director in Chris Columbus, and producer in Adam Sandler. I have okay hopes that it will do well because of the short and concept. I think the meter is going to rest at 70%. Release TBA, 2014, No trailer or poster has been release.

The first Pixar film on our list The Good Dinosaur. Pixar has been quite secretive on this project which has been in development since Wall E. The concept is what if an asteroid did not wipe out the dinosaurs and they learned to coexist with humans. No cast has been announced, but the film is close to being completed. The crew includes first time Pixar directors Bob Peterson and Peter Sohn , and  Peterson also penned the script. The producer of the Incredibles is also attached that is a good sign. Hopefully another Pixar classic is coming. Not another Cars 2. I often thought to myself as a kid the story they are currently taking on. This interests me largely. The RT meter like most Pixar classics is predicted to be 96%. May 30, 2014 Only a poster is available not a trailer:

In no particular order next is Turbo. With Dreamworks making more great movies, it seems like this is there golden age. Pixar may have peaked(Hopefully I'm wrong.) but this studio makes two to four films a year and still can surprise me. This film has a great cast of Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Maya Rudolph and Samuel L Jackson. David Soren, is the man from animation, he has written or directed a feature length script till now and is now ready to take it on. The story follows a snail who dreams of racing and after a freak accident he can. With a strong cast  and an excellent studio behind many classics my guess is that the film will land a 75% on RT. July 17, 2013, Here's the poster and the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-L5bzwdpVI

Another Disney princess film, described as tangled on ice, Frozen. With two instant classics under their belt will Disney produce a third. At this point the film has been filmed and is in the process of finishing animation. Based on the Hans Christian Anderson's, The Snow Queen, it follows a girl who must save her sister from the evil snow queen. The cast like most Disney films has a few good names in Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, and Alan Tudyk. The director, Chris Buck, has one previous major credit as co director to the movie Tarzan. With a great director and an excellent source material it may seem that Disney will go three for three with a RT score of 90%. November 27, 2013. Here's the teaser trailer and teaser poster:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WdC4DaYIeQ

A spin off of the horrible Cars 2. But by Disney. Not by Pixar. This movie was meant for direct to DVD release but instead got a release date. The cast and crew are both relatively less known. The story follows a crop duster plane who wants become high flying air racer. The concept sounds like it could be good and as much as I liked the first Cars I don't think a spin off interests me entirely. The graphics from the trailers are amazing. The RT meter will stay at 55-60%. August 9, 2013 Here's the trailer:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ch39vLdQi1g

The closest release is next with Monsters University. A prequel to the Pixar classic that shows how Mike and Sulley were rivals and then became friends. I will most likely see and review this next weekend. The cast is awesome filled with stars such as Nathan Fillion, Charlie Day, Aubrey Plaza, and many more. As for the returning cast there is Billy Crystal, John Ratzenburger(as in every Pixar film), John Goodman, and Steve Buscemi. The crew is relatively unknown never tackling a writing or directing job. I love the idea of another Monsters Inc. film but lets hope it's another classic. The RT meter is at 77%. June 21, 2013 Here's the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBzPioph8CI

Next a sequel to Illumination wildly entertaining film Despicable Me. The minions are back and bigger then ever when Gru tries to become a good guy when approached by the good guy league. The cast is amazing with most of the returning cast mainly Steve Carrell, as well as some new faces with Kristen Wiig and Ken Jeong. The directors,Pierre Coffin,Chris Renaud, return for the second film and other animated projects in the future. I loved the first film but I'm not sure I'll like the sequel. I'll check it out because of the current RT score of 100%. July 3, 2013 Here's the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwXbtZXjbVE

The next film is the lesser popular live action CGI film the Smurfs 2. I did not love The Smurfs movie, but it made a ton of money at the box office. I think the first film maintained a 22% on RT. This story follows evil smurfs vs. the good smurfs vs. Gargamel. The cast is still okay with Hank Azaria and Neil Patrick Harris. The crew is returning for the first film and other failures. This film I'm never going to see. The RT meter will be even less then the first at a dismal 10%. July 31, 2013 Here's the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alfTPZT3nz0

An anticipated film that I never would have expected is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. I loved the first film and the writers and director have moved on to do great things. The story follows Flint, his father Tim, Sam, Brent, Manny, Steve, Officer Earl and many more characters going back to Swallow Falls to find the food has taken over. It has a Jurassic Park feel to it. The cast like the first features amazing comedians in Bill Hader, Anna Faris, and Andy Sandberg and as I've said the crew is behind many amazing films. So I'm checking this out for sure but I predict it won't be as fun or inventive as the original. The RT score will rest at 75-85%. September 27, 2013 Here's the hilarious trailer:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9yeyHDy-mg

Finally finishing part 1 of my list is Walking with Dinosaurs 3D. This documentary is going to be in 3D and it's about dinosaurs. There is no cast but is produced, directed and written by people at BBC Earth. The film follows the life of different species of dinosaurs. I'm curious on the film because there's only actions not language. Plus who doesn't love dinosaurs. I might check this out at Red Box. I predict the RT score will be 67%. December 20, 2013 Here's the trailer:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7lBKBxIwGM

This is the End review!!!!(Spoilers included)

Yesterday I went to one of my most anticipated movies of 2013, This is the End. Yes after seeing the movie I was so surprised on how far they could pull their R rated comedy, but it totally worked. Also I wouldn't recommend this to children at all, teens may be able to handle this just make sure they're mature enough to see the movie. The reason I say this is because This is the End had security just to get into the movie. Okay so on with the review. It begins with a shaky start only giving a few points of laughter and it didn't quite feel like the actors were acting well as themselves but you quickly forget the problems after the first 5 minutes. When the main two actors Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel arrive at Seth's house to do their favorite things. After less then ten minutes of the movie I'm already laughing so hard I can't breath. This is one of the only movies where I have laughed in the movie theater. The best part when they get to Franco's party is by far Michael Cera who is high on cocaine. He is so messed up. This element that Michael Cera, the good boy actor, is doing this makes it that more hilarious. Especially the bathroom scene. Jay and Seth go to the store because Jay feels uncomfortable. Then the rapture happens and the film begins to become a horror comedy. The world goes crazy in less then 20 seconds, except at Franco's house. When the 9.7 earthquake hits LA then everyone at Franco's runs outside to see the world is ending. The film then kills off iconic celebrities from television and movies. This is the hilarious blood and gore from a horror comedy which is showcased in the trailer. However after this point it will be noted that only a couple of seconds of footage is shown in the trailer which is great and left me very open on what was to happen next. What you get is five friends and later a sixth stuck in a home in the apocalypse. After days stuck at home they run out of water thanks to Danny McBride and Emma Watson. And Danny McBride leaves the house with no weapons. After, the others are forced to get food from another celebrity who is unknown. Once they get it they come home to find a possessed Jonah Hill who is raped by a demon. This is led to the exorcism of Jonah Hill which is hilarious which ultimately leads to Franco's house falling down. A demon blocking Franco's undamaged Prius and Craig Robinson sacrifices himself for the others and is then taken to heaven. After Franco and the others are stopped by Danny McBride and the cannibal gang. As Franco sacrifices himself and gets raptured he is abruptly stopped for being a sore winner. And is eaten by the cannibals. Then only Seth and Jay are left. They hide from the cannibal and then are confronted by the devil who's nude. The Devil tries to pick them up but Jay says his goodbyes and is raptured buying them more time because of the beam. However Seth is not raptured so Jay picks him up. After trying to get him Jay is faced with dropping Seth or dying with him because the beam is failing. The Devil is trying to hit Seth out of the sky without trying to hit the beam. Seth says to let go and let Jay live out his full potential in heaven. As Seth almost hits the Devils mouth he is raptured cutting the Devil's penis off. At this point they are so excited and hold hands as around them you hear Whitney Houston's song " I Will Always Love You". Craig welcomes them both to heaven and they wish for everything they've ever wanted. The movie ends with Jay wishing for the Backstreet Boys reunion and a lengthy final number of their song"Everybody(Backstreet's Back). This movie overall is hilarious and crafted very well, definitely a must buy. 10/10

Movie News # 4 June 7, 2013

Today we discuss:

  • Mel Gibson in Expendables 3 as the villain
  • Adam Scott, Chevy Chase and Gillian Jacobs in Hot Tub Time Machine 2
  • Two more Butler posters
  • The Birdman
  • Aaron Taylor Johnson(Kick-Ass) as Quicksilver in Avengers 2
  • The Dallas Buyers Club gets release date, McConaughey may get his Oscar nod.
  • Leonardo DiCaprio gets role in Rasputin
Mel Gibson is rumored to have gotten the villain role in Expendables 3. This news is awesome because I love Mel Gibson in We were Soldiers and Braveheart. I can see him in an even darker role then his typical hero.

Adam Scott,Chevy Chase, and Gillian Jacobs are added to Hot Tub 2, I love Community and Parks and Rec.!Although I missed the first film I hope to see it before the second ones release.

Two More Butler posters have surfaced for the Forrest Whitaker epic:

These two posters show off the cast and historical significance of the film. I have seen the film and I am impressed by the cast but also the story. I hope this is a good movie.

Images from the Michael Keaton film The Birdman have surfaced on the web:

The comedy is about a old actor who played an iconic superhero. He must ditch the costume and get used to
normal life. The idea and cast for this film is amazing and I hope to see it in theaters.

That's right Aaron Taylor Johnson (Kick-Ass) will play Quicksilver in the next Avengers film. Although scheduling conflicts face him it is unknown whether he will do the film yet.We do not have casting for Scarlet Witch yet but there are rumors that Saoirse Ronan(The Host) will portray the role. As I've said before Kick-Ass is great, for Johnson this may give him the push he needs to get new roles in movies.

Dallas Buyers Club gets a December 6 release date. This may finally give McConaughey the credit he deserves for his Oscar like performances.

Leonardo DiCaprio gets lead in film, Rasputin, about an adviser to a Russian film before he is killed. Most of Leonardo DiCaprio's films give me chills because he's a great actor. Hopefully he will get an Oscar win for a film finally.

Parental Guidance-This family movie provided a couple laughs and a small tear at the end but the only things that shine in this movie are Billy Crystal and his grandsons.6 .5/10

This is 40-The sort of sequel to Knocked Up is painfully slow in the first half but picks up in the second half providing the audience with many laughs.8/10

Jack Reacher-Tom Cruise returns to being a great action star with this thriller to prove one man is innocent of assassinating five people.8.5 /10

The Last Stand-Arnie is back like he promised and he's more bad ass then ever providing laughs and great R rated action.9/10

Warm Bodies-This dark zombie Rom-com proves to show that the zombie genre isn't dead yet. You get great performances and a few laughs.9/10

The Impossible-A story of a tsunami that rocked the lives of one family only a day after Christmas. It is thrilling, sad,and inspirational.9/10

Movie News # 3 June 6, 2013

Today we discuss:

  • The Hobbit 2 images of Evangeline Lilly
  • Interstellar for South Park and Friday the 13th movie rights, both coming back to the big screen.
  • Disney Pixar schedule 2016-2018 planned
  • Man of Steel final trailer and the amount of ticket sales it has already taken in. Plus the promotional value. And does Krypton die?
  • Box Office preview 6/7/13, My predictions for this week.
  • Reviews and what we can predict and tell by them for This is the End, World War Z, The Internship, The Purge, and the Kings of Summer.
  • Run times of films revealed.
  • Jennifer Lawrence to produce and star in Rules of Inheritance
  • Carey Mulligan as Hillary Clinton
  • Fast and the Furious 6 passes 500 million worldwide
  • Esther Williams dies at 91, former MGM actress and swimmer
  • And finally all of the summer movie trailers have trickled on the Internet.
Lets's start with the Hobbit 2:
The former Lost star now looks to be an elven character in the Hobbit:Desolation of Smaug. Entertainment Weekly magazine got an interview with her and a few photos. They look awesome!!!

Nolan's next film, well his brothers, has been co produced by the studio Warner Brothers. Paramount owns the rights to the film since there making it. So why does Warner Bros want in? Warner Bros has had Nolan for most of his hit films, so when Nolan partnered with Paramount, Warner Brothers wanted his next hit film. So Warner Bros has given Paramount the South Park and Friday the 13th movie rights for five years to do a movie for each. In return Paramount gives up half of the rights for the Interstellar film so it can be co produced. For this news I'm happy, on one hand South Park gets another movie(I could care less for Friday the 13th) and on the other Warner Brothers and the name Nolan work to make masterpieces in modern cinema.

In order to read the Disney-Pixar schedule highlight it and the box office with your mouse it makes it easier to read.
Disney-Pixar has set it's schedule for eight new film slots between 2016 and 2018. One is rumored to be another Pixar sequel(Hopefully, it's The Incredibles)Here is the full schedule:
June 21st, 2013 - Pixar's Monsters University in 3D
August 9th, 2013 - Disney's Planes in 3D
November 27th, 2013 - Disney's Frozen in 3D
May 30th, 2014 - Pixar's The Good Dinosaur in 3D
November 7th, 2014 - Marvel's Big Hero 6 in 3D
June 15th, 2015 - Pixar's Inside Out in 3D
November 25th, 2015 - Pixar's Finding Dory in 3D
March 4th, 2016 - Disney Untitled Animation in 3D
June 17th, 2016 - Pixar's Dia de los Muertos in 3D
November 23th, 2016 - Disney Untitled Animation in 3D
June 16th, 2017 - Pixar Untitled Animation in 3D
November 22nd, 2017 - Pixar Untitled Animation in 3D
March 9th, 2018 - Disney Untitled Animation in 3D
June 15th, 2018 - Pixar Untitled Animation in 3D
November 21st, 2018 - Disney Untitled Animation in 3D
The schedule looks good and we might finally get some good films again in animation. Of course I'm seeing all of these except maybe Planes, Cars 2 was too much of a disappointment.

More discussion on MAN OF STEEL this film has already taken in 100 million in ticket sales, more then even Batman and 170 million in promotion from outside companies. In the final trailer we learn Krypton may live. Usually Krypton was destroyed as Superman is shot to earth, but the trailer showcases more Jor-el possibly leading to a larger role then first expected.

Box Office Preview 6/7/13        Critic expectations            My predictions
1.The Purge                                  26 million                       27 million
2.Fast and Furious 6                      19 million                       20 million
3.Now You See Me                        18.5 million                     18 million
4.The Internship                             13-15 million                    17 million
5.After Earth                                   12-13 million                   9-10 million

Reviews are in for some films on Rotten Tomatoes:         My predictions for final ratings:
This is the End 84-94%                                                                    85-90%
World War Z 73-89%                                                                     60-70%
The Purge 43-66%                                                                           40%
The Kings of Summer 65-100%                                                        75%
The Internship 31-50%                                                                     25%
These ranges are from where their highest and lowest score. So I see that critics think that the first two movies are great. This is the End is raunchy, and WWZ is thrilling. The Purge is being said to be to straightforward with plot holes and the Internship is good just because of the two leading men. Finally Kings has fluctuated and is being said to be a coming of age film for this generation.

Run times for summer films are revealed(not major news)
Despicable Me 2 1 hour and 38 minutes
This is the End  1 hour and 59 minutes
Man of Steel 2 hours and 23 minutes
World War Z  1 hour and 55 minutes

Jennifer Lawrence to star in Rules of Inheritance about an only child faced with her parents being diagnosed with cancer. I love anything Jennifer Lawrence is in so this is a yes.

Also Carey Mulligan may star as Hillary Rodham Clinton in a biopic about her life. It is to be called Rodham.
I never saw Gatsby or any of Mulligan's films so I don't really know.

Fast and the Furious passes a half a billion at the global box office. Good luck to the film to pass three quarters. Since I have not seen any of the franchise I will wait to see all of them on blu-ray.

Esther Williams an actress for MGM musicals passes at 91. Thought I would give recognition to the former Tarzan star.

Finally all the movie trailers for Summer 2013 have trickled onto the Internet leaving me with all the wide and independent release information. I can now choose my remaining tickets for the year. I have my full opinions now. Refer to the trailer reviews every week for more.

  • Getaway # 1

Man of Steel HD Final  trailer- This trailer was AMAZING!!!! There was not a ton for a nearly 3 hour film but that leaves me wondering what else is in the film. The jaw dropping tone, action and music astounded me beyond belief. Now I'm feeling more excited then ever.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ui74_qFdmTU

The Family # 1- This film led me to believe it was about a family of killers or assassins but it is a mafia family. Still the film is one of my favorite genres action comedy. It makes me excoited to think of the callibur of acting for ths film and almost everything worked in the trailer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwZNypYmPFE

Runner, Runner # 1- The trailer for Runner, Runner was okay it told the story and showed off it's actors. I thought it would have a different tone but I will probably see it for one reason, Ben Affleck.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yg9gTY5TOo

The To Do List Red-band # 1/2-These two trailers made me laugh so much. I love Parks and Rec. with Aubrey Plaza so I'm pretty excited for this movie.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8YH4V_Qggo

Insidious Chapter 2 # 1- I never saw the first film but this doesn't look that promising either. Never really been a fan of horror.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBbi4NeebAk

Getaway # 1- This trailer was okay it had few moments that took me but Selena Gomez just happening upon Ethan Hawke's car doesn't make me happy. Neither does the fact that the whole movie is in a car.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hM7BB16PkAw

Paranoia # 1- This trailer for this movie was okay but it would not be one to see in theaters even though Gary Oldman is in it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKTDP2NEQwM

The Hot Flashes # 1- This independent film looks like a total chick movie. I'll probably see it on Netflix.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZczfvRVlraI

Drift # 2- The surfer movie looks pretty bad, although the trailer was a little more promising then expected.

2015, the Biggest Year in Movie History?

I know it is two years away but I can't help but think when I flip through the schedule for 2015 that it is shaping up to be the best movie year ever. It's not only sequels, but original films with high concepts. Those films that are getting sequels may gross well over 2 billion dollars. At  least twenty one films may gross over 300 million dollars with nine of those twenty one may be able to make it into the Billion Dollar Club. Her is the list of m twenty one films I think will make it over three hundred million:
1.Star Wars VII- Although the series is aged, the name has a lot brand recognition. Good luck JJ!
2.Avengers 2-The 2012 mega hit gets it's sequel while the iron is hot.
3.Avatar 2- Although it will be five years after the first films release, I think the name and director carry a large name in Hollywood.
4.Jurassic Park IV-Only two years after the re release of the first film  JP4 may end up grossing upwards of 1 billion.
5.Pirates 5- Although I still never loved these films I understand they are enjoyed by others.
6.Finding Dory-We are still waiting on an Incredibles 2 (maybe reserved for new Disney-Pixar schedule 2016-18) but to pass the time a film we thought we would never see a sequel to Finding Nemo.(but since Finding Nemo is Pixar's second highest grossing film, this is a smart idea.)
7.Batman Reboot-After the last installment to the Nolan version of Batman, we are to see the torch passed to a new Batman and director.
8.Mission Impossible V- With the rebooted fourth film released in 2011 it was critically and financially a success.
9. Kung Fu Panda 3- A golden animated franchise. No movies are bad from this series proving a third may be even better.
10.Ant Man-A new Avenger who shrinks and grows, one of the original comic book team.
11.Justice League-When success came for Batman and maybe Man of Steel this year this film will be like the Avengers times 2.
12.Hunger Games Mockingjay part 2-Thee final film is going to be like Harry Potter, Epic.
13.Prometheus 2- After the somewhat successful prequel a parallel story line to the 1970 and 80's film will likely be visually and critically enjoyable.
14. Fantastic Four Reboot- Director of Chronicle ,one of the best unseen movies of 2012, will bring us one of our favorite superhero teams back to reality.
15. Assassin's Creed-A successful game franchise translated onto the big screen by Michael Fassbender and friends.
16.World of Warcraft-An *MMORPG that every this teen from this decade admit they have played will most likely be the next Lord of the Rings.
17.Tin Tin 2- After a run at the French cartoon and graphic novel, Spielberg and Jackson will again try to make another classic out of the motion capture adventure franchise.
18.Charlie Brown-An adaption of the 60's comic strip, Peanuts, will be a brand new movie in 3D animation.
19.Pitch Perfect 2-The singing movie that swept teen girls all over the nation the sequel will probably double in fan size.
20.Popeye-Another cartoon interpretation of the show Popeye the Sailor Man, will follow the spinach loving sailor in 3D.
21.Ratchet and Clank- A series thought to be long gone and in the archives of video game history comes Ratchet and Clank the movie. Based on the exclusive platformer by PlayStation and Sony.

As you can see I am saving my money to see all of these movies.(and yes Pitch Perfect 2 too) I knew these are all sequels or adaptions but there will be more later on this blog.

Which 2015 movies are you excited for? How often do you go to the movies? Comment below.

How Avatar (Not the Last Airbender) Changed My Life

As the title would suggest the 2009 film Avatar changed my life. And you may ask, how, it's just a movie? Well I'm here to tell you Avatar is not just a movie. It is a masterpiece and it's one of the view films I can still fully recollect my time in the movie theater. When I first saw the film it was not because I originally wanted to see it or because of the beautiful TV spots they kept showing on every channel I flipped to on my 44" TV but it was by a random choice. Let me set the stage, it is in late 2009 to early 2010 when the film was the most popular. I was with my family and they said let's go see a movie. I was like OK I have nothing better to do and I like movies. When we get to the movie theater I saw many people there, all in line to see one movie. My family couldn't agree on what to see so we split up. My sister and mom went to see a Rom-com or animated film but my dad and I gave our money  to the box office and bought tickets to Avatar, the sci-fi epic, Oscar nominated blockbuster.(not in 3D though but if it ever again is re-released I will watch it in 3D) This was one of my first times to the movies in a while so I had seen many bad films come and go, but no not this one, this film was special. When we reached the theater it was nearly full, with our two golden seats open. The opening scenes shocked me like a person who had just seen Star Wars in theaters. The flight of a creature in a dream of not an alien but of a man. The visuals never seen before by man, got more ooo's and aww's from the audience. It was like my dad and I were immersed in the world. No appearance of the theater until the end of the movie. I forgot I was even in a movie theater and I didn't even go to the bathroom for fear of missing something good. After the story and film were over my dad and I awestrucked by what we had just seen walked out of the theater jaws dropped. The film made us laugh, cry(well almost),and also knocked our socks off with the amazing plot surprises, score, and visuals. We went over to the rest of our family. They said it's about time and we just looked at them. How long was it , I asked. Almost three hours retorted my sister then I burst into how good the film was and how they had to see it.(They wouldn't for another couple years though) That was when I realized how film and I were connected. Although it has been nearly four years since my first viewing that film made me decide to get involved more with movies. It inspired me to write and follow movie and television news. That film still remains number 3 on my list of all time favorite films, but it will forever be the number one film that changed my life. 10/10

Movie News # 2 June 5, 2013

  • Today's news includes:
  • 22 Jump Street
  • RDJ a certain Iron Man return to Avengers 2?
  • Sequel to WWZ
  • Benicio Del Toro in Guardians of the Galaxy
Let's start with 22 Jump Street. The critically and fan favorite comedy of 2012 was announced to be getting a sequel at this years Cinemacon in Las Vegas. Originally titled 21 Jump Street 2, it has changed it's name. The writers and creators of the first film are hard at work on the sequel which is set to be released on June 13,2014. The news broke today that the film would be titled 22 Jump Street. This news does not surprise me but makes me mad. This is cheesy and stupid. A better title would be 21 Jump Street: College because it clearly states that in the first movies setting. The first film I loved so beside the title of the sequel I'm on board.

RDJ (Robert Downey Jr.) is said to be returning by Joss Whedon. If Disney does not bring back the first Iron Man, Whedon will not do the film. This will setback the film for another year or two. Disney does not want to part with Whedon leaving them with one option bring back RDJ. I love the idea of Robert Downey Jr. coming back and since Joss is so far into the process he correctly placed his comment. Disney will most likely give Joss his Robert Downey Jr. because he has already booked a script, location, and release date.

Marc Forester director of World War Z said he would be open to doing a sequel to WWZ. Having not yet seen the film I might like to see this happen.

There has been some speculation that Benicio Del Toro who recently was cast in the Guardians of the Galaxy film, could get the part of Thanos. Having not seen any of his major works I don't know whether he will do well in this film.

5 Movies or Film Franchises that Deserve Sequels

There are some movies that really deserve sequels, but don't get them. Here is my list of films that should get one:

5. The Incredibles- They left this fully open for more then one sequel but have not moved too far forward with the project.

4. No Country For Old Men-With Javier Bardem on the run, you wonder does he escape or in the sequel should Tommy Lee Jones chase him like he chased Josh Brolin.

3. Terminator: Salvation- This fourth installment to the Terminator franchise lacked the originality and feel of the other films. It was not a fit end to the franchise.

2. Oceans 13- If Bernie Mac was still alive I would love to see an Oceans 14,15,16 and on .but I would miss Bernie Mac's character.

1. A Good Day Top Die Hard- This was not the end. It didn't pass the torch to Jai Courtney well, they need to do a few more and capture what 1,3,and 4 had.

What do you think of my list? What movie do you think there should be sequels for? Comment below
